I got repro chargers from Italy earlier this year.

Not shooting it yet. Holding onto it as an obsolete calibre for now. When I'm retired and have the time to get serious about reloading I might put it on ticket and see how it goes bang :-)

The repro charger looks good, I quite fancy getting one with some inert rounds just to see how it would have cycled. Can you ping me details of where you picked it up?

Erfurt manufactured in 1901. This is actually the earliest G98 I've ever seen.

Matching numbers and original stock. No Finnish upgrades or markings. Cleaning rod missing.

The sling is a repro, but a nice one made in the UK.

1887 dated and Spandau manufactured from memory (I stupidly traded it in against a MKIV Martini Henry of inferior condition).

Since my last posting here my G98 collection has grown to three rifles. The Top one is a 1907 DWM made example and the other two are 1915 Amberg made rifles with close serial numbers. All three are in remarkably good condition for their age.

I've also added to my SMLE collection both live and deactivated. I'm not a fan of deactivated examples personally but i occasionally work in film/TV and i wouldn't trust most actors with a stick let alone a rifle.

Winchester 1894. Chambered in 30-30. 1914 manufacture. City of Toronto property mark on the stock.

Not a front-line rifle, but saw a variety of uses during the First World War by the US, Great Britain and France including mine clearing, harbour patrol, motorcycle messengers and signal corp.
