I'll second re standard. I tried eley force quite a bit through a k-22, GSG 1911, 10/22, 94-22 and AR15 and it shot well but fouled all the actions and didn't feed quite as well as minimag.

It was more consistent than CCI though, CCI is great reliable ammo but accuracy wise it's just not up there with eley, SK and the like.

I shoot at a tunnel quite a bit and do ammo testing there. You can always hear the CCI as you get quite a sonic variation between shots. This has been my experience over 5 odd years shooting minimag as or of several brands down the same tunnel in ammo testing for new rifles to see what they like to eat. Minimag is my first choice for mini rifle where accuracy isn't that important and reliable feeding is king. Though I'm liking the AR Tactical ammo too, also designed to feed very well.

This doesn't really help me with which upgrade kit to buy

No, I like to wander off sometimes, especially on a Sunday. I'd buy the gun, shoot it a lot, measure the accuracy after 500 rounds then decide if you need it more accurate. If you do, take it a step at a time, the bushing upgrade is supposed to make the biggest difference I think, see what AW armoury say.

well hopefully will be buying it tuesday, and possibly going to the range thursday, but will be using it in a comp w/e 10/11th. so ideally would like to get something ordered now to be able to fit and see.


PESTY - have you tried out the APP kit yet?

When I'm testing accuracy/checking zero with mine I use a padded rifle rest and put the frame in front of the trigger guard on it as that takes most of my 'wobble' out of ge equation, just one of those standard 'U'/'V' shaped ones you get in every indoor rifle club.

ok, Thanks Blackstuff.... that could be why my results differ from other people's.. i didn't think I was that bad a shot

I'll be down the range again next sunday, so i'll try again then.

No arrived Saturday while I was out shooting

Fitted it yesterday easy to install I am a bit confused however.

It is designed to worke without the screw through the frame that is there.

But without that screw in place the slide was very stiff to rack and the barrel was noticeably floppy

Refitted the screw and barrel tightened up slide easy to rack. Have emailed the suppliers asking their opinion. The kit came with a blanking screw kit so I'm now confused.

Mine took a good bit of racking before it settled down, I chalked the lower and racked the slide, it was causing the paint to wear on the top side of the lower where the bottom of the upper rides. Few hundred rounds later and it's running fine now. Barrel screw removed, hole tapped and filler screw installed. The new barrel bushing seems to hold the barrel in much tighter than the original, hence the removal of the screw.
The barrel ends up pointing slightly further up though which I think causes the slide to rub the paint off the lower.

I also tried the improved Spring follower but that was very very tight in there so I'm running the stock follower and the improved bushing.

I'll try the new follower again soon now the gun is running well again.

It's all good fun.

Ok, tried again today, resting the frame on a sandbag.

SK Rifle Match (maybe unsurprisingly) was the most accurate.

The left column is Eley Force, middle is SK Rifle Match, right is MiniMag, shot in order, middle, bottom, top.

Both Force and MiniMag shot high, with Force tending to go right... although that could have been me!!

The targets are 1 inch Shoot N C, with a 10 rnds fired at each.

So yes, 1-2 inch groups are possible...
