Re: NRA staff?
I don't suppose those responsible for this debacle show any remorse for letting their staff and their members down so badly?
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.

Re: NRA staff?
Depends on who you hold responsible really.
Several people that I would hold responsible are no longer involved

Another example of continuing mismanagement.

No. Merely putting the record straight. He was/is not a plumber.
He did plumbing work (to a standard) as a C&G qualified plumber with a Tech Eng in plumbing - I know, I saw his work too!
The fact that the new management 'let him go' should tell you something

That was me not knowing what his full title was but knowing that he was a damn good plumber.

Well should know Joss Man, weren't you a second career plumber?John25 wrote:John MH wrote:Are you suggesting the NRA don't know what the people they employ, and are about to let go, do?

John,
Yes I was. C&G qualified. MIP. Tech Eng.
No good to me now of course, not that I want to go back on the tools.
I just get peeved when someone describes themselves as something they are not.
I accept that my qualifications were different from full apprenticeship. But on the other hand I didn't spend any time on my eight month skill centre course making tea or sweeping up!
Got to go, my whole sea bream has just arrived!

Re: NRA staff?
So thats the plan then, every body get down to Bisley and use the place to increase its business. Not a very national approach and a pretty pathetic one at that methinks.NorthernNRAguy wrote:I would suggest that while the dust settles on what will be a very slimmed down version of the NRA staff structure, we all plan on how we are going to get down to Bisley and use the facilities much more.
The NRA needs business..and that is the shooting fraternity...
If we use it too much then they will have to hire more people...
I would suggest that the NRA has another business as well and that is its membership along with effectively representing them and their interests, expanding that would generate income and jobs also, to do that it needs to have an offer beyond Bisley. Up until 2008 this country saw almost 15 years of unprecedented growth in disposable income and wealth (OK a lot of it was debt fuelled but the money was being spent) and during that time the NRA has managed to get itself into recurring financial issues along with a moribund membership total.
Surely that should tell anyone that the Bisley offer on its own doesn't cut it to attract a national membership of viable numbers. The Bisley offer doesn't reach out and attract members who aren't within the catchment are of the range complex. If thats how it is and the NRA is unable or unwilling to have a national role then just be honest and run Bisley shooting ground and make a success of that for once and stop persisting with the lie that the NRA is national. Some honesty on this would perhaps at least get the NRA some more respect across the country.
BTW who in the NRA is discussing with Landmarc at the moment about their staffing and booking issues. Who in the NRA is leading on that nationally?

Re: NRA staff?
They haven't said who is now representing the regions.
Get your General Council member to ask at the meeting.
I would, but I won't be there.

Re: NRA staff?
You are right John I will do it directly. although my post above is directed at my regional representative.
Ooops! got it wrong there. The regional representatives are there to represent the NRA in the regions not the regional membership to the NRA.
