Hmmm... That kind of helps, but I just can't see how the 58.3 is calculated. How is the group size turned into a percentage?
As an outsider, I'm thinking maybe it should be simpler to work out the score. Or maybe I'm just thick emrolleyes

The group factor is determined by your group size the smaller the group the higher the factor but the maximum increase in score you can obtain is 10%, over a certain size (1MOA or 2 inches) there is no increase in score.

Any chance you could talk us through the calculations so I can see how the two targets posted in this thread are scored?John MH wrote:The group factor is determined by your group size the smaller the group the higher the factor but the maximum increase in score you can obtain is 10%, over a certain size (1MOA or 2 inches) there is no increase in score.

The calculations are't important you just need to hit the centre of the individual circles to get a good score.
If you have any more questions just download the Corse of Fire, its all explained in there.

I was not worried about the score, charity shoot for a good cause and a interesting cof. This was my first rifle comp since 1995 it was well run good fun and was not an arms race. It reminded me of practical shooting just with out the movement, 10 rounds in 30 sec at 600 yds at a EIC target was furious with a rem 700.

Date set for 2013 is again 4th August but this time a Sunday. Course of Fire will change a bit and will still be very challenging, hopefully including shooting these bad boys:
