We have a separate account for cheques and monthly outgoings and transfer what is needed for the month into it and that is about it. Christel deals with the finances in the house so I never question what is spent as I am sure it is needed regardless of what it is. In fact she tends to make the vast majority of the purchases regardless of what they are and if I am to spend money I let her know so she can account for it.
It is fair to say such practices did make it incredibly hard to hide the purchase of her Christmas present from her

You should probably check the account she might be sneaking expensive handbags in to the house and you're footing the bill!

We have separate finances just because we always have had and there has never been a good reason to change that. I can think of a couple of very good reasons not to, I'm a spender, the wife's a saver, if I had unhindered access to all the cash, we'd have a Bentley on the drive and nothing but cornflakes in the cupboards! It's handy having everything separate, at least she doesn't know what my collection is really worth!

Exactly the same, have always had seperate accounts when we first met and have never changed it. Morgage is split, i pay for sky..Rac..gas - electricity, wife pays for the weekly food bill and odds and sods, works well, shes got her freedom and so have i... the only thing i would change is to have her wages

I understand, I'd take a days holiday if I had to! Waiting for your FAC is like watching paint dry without the benefit of the fumes... I hope you don't have much longer to wait or you have more patience than me!
I'd love to see some pics when it arrives if you remember.
Will post a pic when i collect the rifle, in the hopefully not to distant future....
The next q would be how would i do this using photo bucket, which box to tick to see image on forum smile2

We split the bills so we have the same amount of disposable income. i.e. the higher earner pays more...
