The Sig 522 SWAT is going...

Well, after nearly 2 months of trying to get it to feed properly, we (me and Garlands) have given up and decided it's a Friday afternoon rifle. So it's going back for a refund.

Apparently, out of the hundreds they've sold, they've had 3 that have been like this, the rest have been fine. Just my luck. Something to do with the mag well, apparently.

Unfortunately, Garlands don't have any more and aren't expecting any until the latter part of next year, which leaves me .22LR'less and in need of a Plan B.

I'm really gutted, as when it did shoot, it was great and I loved everything about it. I suspect I'll get another when they become available again, but I'm in a bit of a quandary over what to do in the meantime, as I do need a .22.

I've got a Southern Gun .223 AR on the way, do I get a .22LR upper for that? SGC are in the process of making new ones, so they won't be available until after Christmas either. Or do I just buy a cheap Ruger 10/22 for a couple of hundred quid to get me by? Decisions decisions...

I'd go with the 10/22.

Tried tested and known to work.

Easy to fix if it doesn't and it looks more like a proper rifle, you can get them with wood stocks. :good:

somebody was selling a V22 on here recently , he may still have it?

otherwise the 10-22 is a great and very tuneable rifle?

10-22's are good but VERY boring. Especially with a wood stock.

Buy yourself that V22 which was up for sale on here recently or get a S&W 15-22

Just my 2p :)

If it were a keeper, I wouldn't be considering a 10/22. I have to agree, although they do the job, they're really not that interesting. And - sorry Dromia - I definitely wouldn't get one with a wooden stock. ;) The only reason I'm considering it, is that they're really cheap. So as a stop-gap until new Sig 522s become available, that works.

I'm not so keep on the S&W, dunno why, just doesn't appeal to me. At the right price, a (whole) V22 could work too though. Think I'll drop him a PM and see if it's still available.

Failing that, then a CMMG or Spikes upper will drop onto your SGC lower...assuming it's a standard AR lower that is.

A nice bolt action CZ with a Stutzen stock would be the choice of a 'ooman with taste...

How about a pre-owned Anschutz Model 520/525 semi-auto?
