I'm looking for something suitable to stick on a .223 AR which I intend to shoot out to 300 (possibly a bit more on occasion), but my eyes aren't what they used to be and I'd prefer something with more than 10x max magnification, 6x-18x....that sort of thing.

I'm thinking around the 300 - 400 quid range. I know there are new scope options at that price range, but I'd be interested to see if anyone has something decent secondhand available.
