There seems to be an original advertised on Gunstar from Leamon Sporting Supplies says has cut outs to save weight bolt handle drilled etc has scope rail but action not drilled and original sights supplied, good price too if only I had a spare slot.

If I had the spare slot ( and room and money  ) I'd give it a home.

Plenty of the guys over here have No 5 carbines and I like them!!!!

I have a No 7 carbine. A What you say?
Yes a No 7.
It is a Indian No 2A (7.62 x 51) that was converted to look like a No 5 by the importer.
Why they did it I will never know, but it is fun, and I got it for a really good price used.

There are a lot of "Jungle" carbine Enfield look alikes, and sometimes look nothing like it look alike, conversions done in the states. They used to be called tankers guns over there.

I have in my collection an Ishapore refurb of an original No5 still in .303". It is one hell of a shooter and was my go to gun for the CQB competitions.

A Company called SantaFe converted a lot of Enfields 20 or so years ago.
They still show up with someone trying to sell them as real No 5 carbines.
