Grain Check weights(s) to borrow

I've just modified my RCBS 5-0-5 by sticking a bit of needle on the pointer and need to recalibrate. Has anyone got a check weight I can borrow? Happy to pay postage

Just a thought, the needle needs to be brass (non magnetic) or the damper magnets will effect the reading.majordisorder wrote:I've just modified my RCBS 5-0-5 by sticking a bit of needle on the pointer and need to recalibrate. Has anyone got a check weight I can borrow? Happy to pay postage
Ah, that one slipped by me! Where did you get yours from?1066 wrote:Just a thought, the needle needs to be brass (non magnetic) or the damper magnets will effect the reading.majordisorder wrote:I've just modified my RCBS 5-0-5 by sticking a bit of needle on the pointer and need to recalibrate. If you go to a specialist sewing shop you can get nickle plated brass dress makers pins (they don't rust) or you could use a bit of a miniature brass safety pin. Try them with a magnet before fitting. - You will need to add weight to the weight pan to compensate, I use electrical solder. Here's a short video of how I recalibrate them.majordisorder wrote:Ah, that one slipped by me! Thanks for that, it was your original video that inspired me to chop up a needle and stick it on. Just a bit of a Homer Simpson moment in forgetting about the magnets though :cool2: Now I've go the full picture of how to do it properly sign921066 wrote:
