Good Old Ray.

This guy seems to have a few things in order when it comes to survival outdoors.

http://www.raymears.com/

However some of his survival tips are pretty useless depending on the danger. Building a shelter of palm leaves will not be much good if we are facing an ice winter.

I do however think he is very very good and his approach to nature is lovely unlike some other twits on tv I have seen.

Couldn't agree more, plus I believe he is a shooter as well. :D

I'm afraid Ray is a bit of a god of mine!

I've been taught by a couple of instructors that used to work for him, top geezer in my book. Ben Orford does a course for them http://www.woodsmoke.uk.com/ too.

There's some good kit on Ray's site, if a little pricey.

At least with RM you know when he builds a shelter he will be stopping in it and not heading down the hotel at the end of the shoot unlike some... He is also a great conservationist.

Ah but joking aside, when something has been hand crafted out of a nature material, steel in this case and it is fit for purpose, you can't beat that, can you.
