I've got a restricted 2 + 1 Hatsan Escort MPA-24, now that I have the slot available I was thinking about getting the capacity upped and it put on my FAC.
Obviously, starting life as a Section 2 gun, the mag tube is crimped. If I replace the tube, I'll have a 7+1 capacity - but ideally I'm looking for at least a 9+1 capacity (which should also bring the tube to the barrel length, roughly).
The standard MPA tube is one-piece, so I don't think there's any way to add the usual Hatsan +2 extension? I was thinking of getting the standard Escort 5 shot tube and looking at getting something like a Nordic components extension? What are my options - is anyone running a Hatstand for PSG? What have you / would you do?

Re: Hatsan MPA Magazine Extensions
I have the Sec.1 7+1 MPA, the end of the mag tube is crimped over (like a roll crimp on a shell casing) so I don't think you can extend it easily. From what I've read the Tacstar Benelli Supanova extension tube has the same threading so may be able to be fitted to a Sec.2 2+1
The biggest problem with the Sec.1 is that the mag tube is threaded about 2/3 of the way up and the fore-end retaining collar/sleeve goes over the mag tube and screws onto it.
Hopefully the pic below shows what I mean.
Works very well for PSG but I'm selling mine as I don't get on with the pistol grip and having an arthritic thumb it's a bit too stiff to load (as it's still brand new and hasn't worn in yet), looking at a Benelli of Winchester pump action instead.

I expected at least one of these comments - very helpful....saddler wrote:Sell it & buy a good gunMikaveli wrote:What...would you do?
Spending £50-100 on an extended mag is just a bit cheaper than buying something like a Benelli M2 for £1100 ish and then having to spend the same to get the capacity up to 10+.

Magazine capacity aside, until Hatsan sort out the overly complicated shell lifer/magazine cut off i wouldn't entertain one for PSG. If you're on a limited budget i'd sell it and get a pump

The mag cut off's fine for me - the shell lifter isn't ideal admittedly.
I bought the Hatstand to find these things out - I figured buy a cheap (c. £400 new) gun, find out what works and what didn't, what I did and didn't like etc.
In that capacity, it's more than done it's job. I have been considering getting a cheap pump - I nearly bought a Benelli Supernova, complete with welded shell lifter and Nordic extension - but someone got there first. :(
In a year or so, I'll be upgrading to a high-spec PSG gun, but until then, I can't justify spending more than £500-600 for my shotgun. I've still got 5 other slots to fill.
