Desert shooting trip

Rufrdr and company headed off to the desert this past weekend for a bit of unrestricted shooting fun. A couple of the party were very serious shooters and spent the whole day sighting in a pair of AR15s while us barbarians blasted away at balloons, water filled plastic bottles, steel plates, and other fun targets. We cleaned up every scrap of target and empty cases and left the area as good as when we came except for some bullet divots in the ground!

The bright square up the hill is a piece of cast iron plate at about 150-200 yds. The 7.62mm bullets from the Browning went through it like it was paper. Targets are being set up, we weren't shooting a live targets here!

Looking back at the firing line..the blue cover is over the Browning 1919A4 to forestall any questions

The very serious shooters

A fun time was had by all but we failed to realize how hot and dry it was until about 3 p.m. when we realized we were all dehydrated and needed to pack up and get to a restaurant for burgers, fries, and milkshakes.
