Hi all,

Looking for a bipod for my Rimmy.

Having never used a Harris I'm wondering if they are worth the price over the fleabay copies?

Thank,

Mick.

In my opinion, probably not for a rimfire. Exception to that would be if you can pick up a used Harris for a reasonable price.

Also saw a 3 point bipod on vector optics for under fifty pounds, reasonable price for starters...

Harris are very well made and, given you can only shoot one rifle at a time, can be switched between rifles. I have one, the notched, swivel base 6-9 inches version, that works well on my .177 BSA Scorpion air rifle and .308 Remington 700. Fit a pod-lock and it's pretty well a perfect piece of kit.

i use a harris bipod, definitely worth the money and will last. mine is one of the 9 - 25 inch ones, and the three standard settings are perfect for prone, sitting and kneeling. had it 3 years now and don't shoot without it.

You can get copy harris bipods on ebay, ive bought a few over the years, quality varies, i had to replace 2 of the leg nuts with nylock nuts and if thats all then its worth the money ,I threw one away it was so bad, but that said, ive got 2 copys and 1 original and I doubt most could tell the difference....

I have a Buffalo River bipod from Opticswarehouse and its been pretty good.
Have a look on their website as they have some bipods on clearance.

I personally think the Harris Bipods are worth every penny. I've had mine 8+ years and kt functions brilliantly. From my .22 right up to 308 its done the job. I just bought a rifle a while back and a selling point beyond the package of scope, moderator and the rifle was that it came with a Harris bipod
