Forum rules
Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

>Add Gun Shop here<

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

This rule applies to the entire forum.

I noticed Andy Allwood has posted on his web page he is no longer selling Guns & Ammunition, only reloading items.
Thats a shame had a few good deals on Schmidt Rubins from him in the past. Good Luck Andy.

Indeed it is, he is on my route between home and Bisley, very useful for ammunition and bits. I'd been contemplating buying one of his Schmidt Rubins after I'd sold my Steyr.

Apparently he has lost his RFD licence due to an administrative error.

I am sorry to hear this and to comment further would be wrong.

I am a relatively new RFD and it is an absolute minefield with very little guidance in writing so I do call my FEO from time to time with potentially dim questions. Only this morning I called my FEO, three points on the agenda and all were administrative, good record keeping is essential for RFD's. I have made life a bit more difficult because I am making things so they 'just appear' on my records so keeping the FEO involved from the very start has been essential for me and I am very grateful for the support Beds and Herts have given me.

Interestingly I have had them call me on more than one occasion with an obscure question.

After a fairly lack lustre visit to the Bisley Phoenix meeting, I usually call over to see Andy Allwood at Bracknell afterwards.
I called him from Bisley to tell him that I would be picking up about 300 rounds of rifle ammo in about an hour, that I had pre-arranged with him two weeks ago. Unfortunately, Andy told me that Thames Valley had just turned down his RFD renewal (for reasons that he would explain later), so he is no longer selling firearms or ammunition, only accessories and reloading components. The end of a good trading relationship, I think.
Overall, a disappointing day. A trip this week down to the Sportsman's Gun Centre is on the cards.

He did have a goodly stock of Schmidt Rubins, has anyone noticed them being put up for sale anywhere. I'll be looking for a K31 at some point.
