Evening all,
While at Severnside last week with Ray Brown and Dave I thought I would try the Spikes out to 200yds
I was surprised at the results!
I always take old 4 inch bathroom tiles as sighters for my fullbore rifles (there has to be some good use for DIY)!!
These tiles had been hit and blown to bits by our full bore rifles, so I tried to hit the bits with the spikes....and hit them most of the time, until now I've only used the spikes for informal plinking out to 50yds or so, I was very surprised at this rifles capability in still conditions, not bad for a 16 inch green mountain barrel, CCI mini mags...and a very avarage shooter!

About 10 years ago I got range ayes mixed up and attended a full bore range day with a .22 Volquartson..... Instead of just going home, I shot it at 3 and 400m. Gave me a whole new respect for the "humble" .22 out of a decent rifle.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Respect indeed, quite amazing what such a tiny round can do given the right weather conditions and in a very consistant way!
