It's me again!
If someone has a shotgun which was acquired by moving into a house where it was left hanging on the wall. But they do not have a SGC.
What is the procedure to legally transfer that to someone that does have a SGC?

Safest way would be to call that person and have them collect it...pronto...

Or get a friendly RFD to collect it ASAP whilst things are sorted out.

I think a bit more info is required...
The current "owner" of the shotgun has had the shotgun on the wall for the past 30 years without any problems. Even though several Police visits to the house for other reasons.
I suppose the question is:
Can a SGC holder legally take possession of the Shotgun or does it have to be handed over to the Police first for inspection?
Note: The Shotgun probably isnt in a safe working condition. But could be fired provided the user didnt mind booking a hospital appointment afterwards.

Could be a de-act, obsolete calibre (pinfire etc) or antique (section 58?). I'm afraid I don't know enough to offer firm advice but I've hopefully given you the right questions to ask/google. The Mick's Guns websites has some useful legal info for this sort of thing.

Looking at the picture I would say it has been deactivated. If it is up to a recognised standard, depends on the rest of the gun.
It looks to have been made in Belgium.
How about photos of the rest of the gun?
