Good Afternoon from the North West!

I am new to Club shooting, shooting as a civilian and being part of a club. I am trying to learn the lingo of the moment so forgive me if I get any of the names, terms of shooting wrong.

I am interested in tactical style rifles, as that is what I am most comfortable with and shooting with a more practical approach instead of shooting small round targets or hunting. I understand, this puts me at risk of being branded a mental, wannabe Rambo, so be it.

Initially, I was quite surprised at the number of people (of all ages) that are interested in tactical style rifles. I am trying to gauge if we have anything like the US have like “run and gun” style disciplines or multi target type shooting?

Look forward to reading and learning and asking plenty of questions. How strange to be one of ‘those newbies!’.

Hi Kho. The 3 Gun thing is slowly taking off here albeit with our ridiculous firearms laws making it more gun than run.

Yeah we do have that kind of shooting here, as Mike says 3-gun is beginning to take off here.

'Run and gun' is mainly shot as either practical shotgun, minirifle or multi-gun. (I shoot mainly practical shotgun, but some multi-gun too). Pop on over to http://www.four4islands.org and see if there are any clubs near to you. Some of the CSR guys are there too, but their forum is at at http://csrshooter.co.uk/forum/

The forum here is great for a wide range of shooting topics, but for a practical flavour check out the above.

Thanks for the messages. I will take a look at CSR. Its new to me but this is what I expected I would find, terms and groups and styles of shooting that I was not aware about.
