Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

I also read a little while back that Vulcan XH558 might be able to continue flying until 2015: I saw it twice last year it flew quite low right over my garden on its way to display at bournemouth. A serious happy moment.

A brilliant article, good post Jenks. Awesome photos for sure, the comments are interesting to, so many who have't a clue as to WHY this memorial must never be shelved to placate our enemies.
The Hawker Hunter pictured is marvellous, I remember them as a kid in the skies along with the English Electric Lightnings during the potential Russian Attack of the Cuban crisis.
Spitfires will never grow old.
Vulcan, saw one fly over Manchester during the Falklands war...there's one at RAF Cosford, stood under it, bomb doors were open....WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the price of a few hate preachers and their spawn we could have a whole squadron of Vulcans flying about. priorities all wrong methinks.

When I was about 10 I went with the Sleaford Aviation society to visit the BBMF hanger one evening and one of the ground crew took me up into the side door of the Lanc, one of the memories I will cherish forever :shakeshout:

A friend of mine former USAF said that he walked up to a Vulcan on the flight line at a U.S. air base that was headed back to the UK. The bomb bay was open, he peered up inside it, there was a cargo net hung inside chock full of electronics booty from the BX headed back home with the crew! That's what I call an exchange tour.
