M17 3006 rifle stock wanted

#1 Post by docjr »

I recently bought one of these with a sporterized stock, anyone know where I can get an original military stock? Pref for M17 but would consider a p14 stock even. Plus related parts, top wood etc.

Photos of rifle attached.

US Model of 1917 Eddystone. (Remington's factory in Pennsylvania) Bolt stamped R (for Remington). Barrel stamped E (for Eddystone) over a "flaming bomb" over 11-17 near front sight. Original sights and sling swivels. Decent bore with plenty of rifling.

That is a fine looking rifle. A stock will not be a lot of money, the problem will be tracking one down as they tend to be found sitting under benches and in the corners of workshops. You could try Terry Abrams, I can find a number for him if you wish and Christel can email you as she will have your forum details. Chris Goodwin at C&G Rifles might have something as well. Other than that just have a hunt around the internet and see what comes up.

Price wise anywhere from GBP25 to GBP75 is my guess.

Fultons at Bisley might be worth a try but probably wont be cheap if they have one!
Norman Clark at Rugby might be worth a phonecall.
