After a rifle for full-bore target stuff and occasional stalking. What do people thing of these 7.62 Enfields(scroll down)? I'd be looking for 1/4 inch groups at 100m

Of the rifles on offer at the sub £500 mark, we'd suggest the P14 conversion might give the best performance but not approaching 1/4 minute ! Our P14s are pretty good, but not competitive with a top F class rifle...

None of those rifles will give reliable 1/4"moa. The Envoys (if they are genuine) may give 1/3 to 1/2 moa at long range depending on barrel and bedding condition but more likely 1/2 to 1" moa. All should be able to hold the 'bull' on the NRA target out to 1000yds but you are still talking 1-1 1/2 moa. Could you Stalk with one, yes but that is not down to just the rifle. I used to stalk with a No4 Mk2 in .303 with open sights that on a good day held 2 moa (shots were never taken past 150yds).
If you want 1/4 moa you will need a custom rifle with carefully produced hand loads and an Enfield is never going to do that.

So, the P14 might be a good starter for the longer range target stuff. Will likely get a Parker Hake or BSA CF2 or similar and forget about getting a multi-purpose tool.
