Shop around but for those un-restricted items Ebay in the US is more likelely to be your best friend. With a bit of patience you will get your goodies postage included for more than half, if not less, than it would cost you in the UK ...
Even ordering from Bronwels USA, again even with the postage, was still working out sadly much much cheaper than buying from UK "retailers".

I have used deal extreme in the past and have to say that I can not tell the difference, I suspect that the Chinese have no quarrels about selling legit items out the side door.

Just make sure that whatever you are buying is not for air soft as I suspect they have different fittings for certain items,
