Future project I have in mind

I've been thinking of picking up a new hallway howitzer for sporting and self defense use as of late.

The Mossberg super bantam 20 gauge (model #54210) seems like just the candidate.

The L.O.P. on the stock can be adjusted from the standard 12-inches and a spacer can be added for 13-inches, the forearm seems to have a shorter throw (which should aid in fast shooting as needed)

The magazine capacity is 5+1, and it wears a 22-inch vent rib barrel with multi-chokes.

The additions and modifications I have in mind are...

#1: Have the vent rib barrel cut down to 18.5 inches and re-threaded to take the chokes.

#2: Pick up a second barrel of 18.5 inches with fixed cylinder choke for slug shooting and general defensive use at close range.

The reasons I would want to trim the vent rib barrel down is to keep the sight picture and sight radius the same from barrel to barrel, and it's easier to move through thick brush with an 18.5 inch tube than a 22 or 26 inch bit of steel.

If things go as planned *crosses fingers* I'll have a new b-day and x-mas gift for myself this year.
