Just made a trip to Bisley to collect some GGG ammunition. Contrary to other posts, they have lots of the stuff bangbang , it's RWS that went back.

Having just shot the two side by side at 1000.....

Don't shoot it much at 1000

It is NATO 7.62x51 and not designed for target rifles, but is supposed to be quite good for general shooting. Some folk speak well of it.

We were getting keyholing at 1000 through a 30" barrel/barnard action.

Yeah it was horrid that far out. Might well have shot better close up though - worth a go at 600 yards.

The armourer told us that someone was getting the rounds on target at 1000 using a savage with a 26" barrel - using the 5.56 ammo

It comes in 7.62 and 5.56. In my experience it's the only thing that will feed my SLR. It's £60/100 for the 7.62 and 40something for the 5.56

That would be the same armorer that was asking the butts to listen for the fall of shot then.

It was very random even through longer barrelled target rifles.

We would have stood better chance with a mortar!!

It should feed your L1 C, it is NATO std 7.62x51.

If that was at the Open Day, then it might have been my Savage, and if so, that wasn't 5.56 NATO - was handloads :)

Very good price on slugs and their S&B .303 too.

Still not got any milsurp 7.62.54R ..... we may have to take a trip up north to simply or over to ITL unless anyone here can offer a good deal on 1000 rounds bumpsign
