Hi all

Today I spent the day on Butt Zero at Bisley, as Range Officer for the opening event of the HBSA 40th Anniversary.

With much co-operation from the Home Office and Surrey Police and with huge support from Fulton's, Severnside Firearms, Aldhurst Firearms, Classic Firearms and Chatham Historic Dockyard and a whole bunch of lovely people who happen to own stuff we would all like to get our hands on, we demonstrated the following (apologies if I miss anything or get the terminology wrong):

NAVAL WEAPONS

Nordenfelt http://www.victorianshipmodels.com/anti ... barre.html
you just HAVE to look at this thing!

LIGHT MACHINE GUNS
Lewis Gun
B.A.R.
ZG30
BREN
MG43
Something-or-other Russian 28, which finally worked at the third attempt

SUB MACHINE GUNS AND MACHINE PISTOLS
Thompson
MP40
Sten
Sterling
UZI
Lusa
Skorpion
At least 2 Russian SMGs that I have forgotten the designations of

ASSAULT RIFLES
AK47
StG42
M1
M16
SLR (OK it doesn't strictly fit the definition but I love it)
SA80

PISTOLS

Mauser C96 "Broomhandle"
Luger Artillery
Luger 4"

There were 27 weapons on the list, so I have missed at least one.

HBSA provided commentary on each weapon as it appeared, all were fired to the limits of their capability, and the whole thing was filmed by HBSA members who work in the documentary production business. I understand the DVD will be available in a few weeks.

HBSA celebrations continue for the whole weekend at Bisley.

When allowed to play with the Nordenfelt (which unlike all the others is a S1 firearm), arrived at the silly grin stage before the trigger was pulled. razz  :good: :good: razz  :flag6:

Sounds like a good day, just a shame that your guys could have a dabble and were restricted to watching.
