I'd look at VV N120 for rifle loads 16-18 gns for 900-1000 fps depending on barrel and what velocity you are looking for. Cases whatever you can get and the pockets will most likely be for large pistol primers. Boolits would need to be flat nosed in the Marlin. Lyman do a mould.

Yes...i do. The bullet is a lead cast one i buy in bulk from Tim Hanman, the cases are remington (i souced them years ago from Kranks) and i use 9grs of Hodgdon HS-6. The primers are CCI, i believe. The choice of primers never seemed to effect the accuracy i've found over the years, but i definately like HS-6 for its consistency.

I can sell you some boolits if you are at the show next Sunday.

Hi Dodgyrog, Show Sunday, I'll be in South East Essex. Its a pain but I am hoping to get another gun. I was supposed to be at a club shoot at the same time. It's like the buses, everything comes at once. Ronboy

I'm using Hodgdon Tightgroup, 6.5gns behind a Hannam 250gn LRNFP. CCI primers and a mixture of cases. Pushing them through an Uberti LBR and they'll print 3 inch groups at 25m.

Fairly accurate, mild recoil and cheap! The perfect plinking load......

I'm a bit horrified at only achieving 3 " groups at 25m. The late Bert Brookes used 5.5grn of bullseye in 45 Colt and could put them in one hole at 50m (and usually did).

Fred,

It's more to do with the Uberti than anything else......
