I've just realised that I've put my shotgun certificate through the wash !!
What's the procedure ? Phone plod and ask for a new one ? Will they charge ?

If you say that they could say it is negligence.

I would say it was in your pocket when shooting today and the horrendous weather soaked through and destroyed it.

Might get more sympathy ?

No sympathy for oomans in a Badger Court...

I think it's £8 for a replacement if lost/destroyed.
However... If it's only partly damaged they might replace for free.

Why don't they make these plastic like the drivers licence, I use smart re - writable cards in my job, I can update the holders details quickly and they can have as much information as you like on them, that way they are easily carried in a wallet. It's like a throwback to the edwardian era, big wad of paper to carry around.

When I lost my FAC a while ago, a quick phone call to the FLO got me directions to the Gwent FLO website to download and complete a replacement certificate request form, instructions to fill it in and send a cheque for £9 to get a replacement reprinted.

They couldn't have given a to$$ about me losing the original.

As Gwent FLOs tend to be on the fair but very strict side, I doubt if you'll have any problems - especially as you still have the (admittedly soggy!) original :-) .

I'm sure you'll be fine, just £9 poorer....

...just checked the online form before posting....replacement SGCs are only £8!! Damn you shotgunners that's a whole pound cheaper than a FAC!

So long as you send whats left of it in it's replaced for free.
