Applying for a Shotgun certificate

#1 Post by meles meles »

Oomans, we need your advice.

We think we'd like a shotgun (or two, or three, we know how it is with these things).

Our FAC has two years to go afore it expires. We plan to send it to Mr Plod shortly as we'd like a variation for another rifle, but we're wondering if we should look at going coterminous. Or should we stick with separate stiffycates for the screw and scatterguns? Ought we to wait until Dec 1 when the new application forms are valid?

The coterminous 10 quid deal only applies when adding SG at the time you apply / renew your FAC.

So you're stuck with paying 50 for now.

In two years, you can end your SGC early to make it co-terminous - that'll then only cost you a tenner on top of your FAC each time you renew.

I'd wait until your certificate is up renewal and go for a coterminous SGC. In the meantime as you're putting a variation I'd ask for a combination gun (http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sal ... 8110137002) as well.

Hmmm, bad Sandgroper, BAD !

*ponders*

Maybe we should hold off on the SGC and add a few Section 1 shotguns to our FAC. That's do-able, isn't it ?

At least you'd only have to worry about one certificate with S1 shotguns.
