Powder Sharing

A bit out of left field this one but I was wondering what the feedback would be like on the following-
We are all on a never ending quest to find the perfect load but experimenting with powder is expensive and if the powder you have just bought doesn't work then you are stuck with it.
If we could list, all the powder that FBUK members hold would it be possible to swop/buy minimal amounts to allow for making say 10-20 rounds for load development? Is it safe/legal to post very small quantities of powder?
Just a thought?

Great idea but we cannot legally post it as far a I know, however face to face is fine. There is a big trust thing here so I think it is important that you satisfy yourself that you are indeed getting say N560 and not N540 as such a mix up good prove dangerous if not fatal. Having said that I often wonder what 'XYZ' would be like as an alternative and as you say, buying a tub is an expensive way to find out.
That reminds Mike, I have some .311 123 grain spitzers, do you want to try a few, if so shout and I will post them through the F-B(UK) underground postal service (Dodgyrog)

Good point Ovenpaa, that is why I posted this, so that all the different scenarios could be discussed. If postage is an issue then it is an complete non starter.
Yes please on the Spitzers. If you give them to Rog then I can pick them up from him once I get my finger out and phone him re cast boolits

A good idea. I thought powder could be posted, but not together with primers.....

I thought it had to go through a special courier.

I've just had a look at the most complicated site in the world, Royal Mail, and could only find that powders can't be sent Internationally.....
I'll ring one of the big shops locally that does a lot of mail order and has loads of powders listed in their adverts.

Great idea.
but
According to Henry Kranks, powders must sent via a courier.
I think Royal Mail would class smokeless powder as a Flammable Solid and as such is prohibited.
Solid materials which are liable to cause fire by friction, absorption of water, spontaneous chemical changes or retained heat from manufacturing or processing, or which can be readily ignited and burn vigorously. E.g. adhesives, calcium carbide, cellulose nitrate products, matches, metallic magnesium, nitro-cellulose based film, phosphorous, potassium, sodium, sodium hydride, zinc powder, zirconium hydride etc.
Smokeless powder probably doesn't techically meet the definition, but I think they would say no anyway. :(
