After a long(ish) wait I've finally got my hands on a 870 Pump chambered in 3.5 magnum. Has anyone got experience of slicking/tuning the action?

Any sensible suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome on board.

I reckon Saddler or Phaedra1106 would be able to offer suggestions from what I've read on here.

My Rem 870 Express Magnum was used whhen I bought it, but still in need of some action work.
What you'll need is the book telling you how to carry out any work on the 870 & 1100 shotguns.
The author is Jerry Kuhnhausen.

If you get stuck finding a copy let me know.

Thanks, I'll get on Amazon pronto. I did upgrade the trigger group from plastic to ally, TBH I'm not sure if it was money well spent.

Ouch! At £47 for a used copy it's not cheap.

Let me know if you want to sell the plastic trigger unit.

A better source for the book may be abebooks.

Also look on the web for the gunsmithing video clips posted by A & I P Tactical ?
Trigger springs are easy to replace, as are the carrier dog springs.
I source both springs from Brownells...busy putting together an order for later this month.

I have some 870 stocks and forends listed on here for sale in case you want to upgrade yours.

The Plastic Trigger unit has never been used.
