Hi

I have just Signed up to the forum after looking around for a while and I have found lots of great info on here. I have recently recked my FAC and am heading out tomorrow to pick up my first gun a Henry Golden Boy in .22lr and I can't wait to get in down the range and give it a try.

I am also thinking about getting a S&W M&P 15/22 after trying one out the other day as it was a great fun gun to shoot. Right now i am mostly interested in plinking and mini rifle comps but i am sure once I try a few more disciplines I will get in to more things

If anyone has any advice on these 2 please let me know

Cheers

John

The Henry's are fine rifles, got to be my favourite underlever.

The S&W seems to be well thought of by those on here who claim to know about such things.

Hi John,

The S&W is generally known to be a good rifle (I don't own one, just going of what others have said), the only issue is that some people find it a bit lightweight. Another similar rifle to try is the Sig 522, both equally good. You can also get full metal AR types from people like Lantac, Spikes etc. There is a big thread on here discussing the merits of each of them, if you do a search you'll find it.

Hi guys

Thanks for the messages. I have seen the Spikes and Lantac AR's and they look great but a bit pricey for me to start with but I may go down that path in the future

Cheers

John
