Remington 700 Aftermarket Trigger (Jewell?)

So after a fairly rubbish shoot at 300 Yards at Kingsbury yesterday morning, I've come to the conclusion that the Rem 700 standard trigger on my .223 police is a bit naff and needs replacing... For the most part it felt like I was wrestling with the trigger to get it to go off, and subsequently not confident about them going precisely where they should... when that happens... it's hard to judge the wind from the bad form, and I'll never learn...

So if anyone has any good, tunable triggers sitting around gathering dust, let me know!

Thanks all

I had one of the rifle basix triggers on my Remmington and would recommend them,

Dangermouse is right - I broke my comp. trigger and bought a Riflebasix to tide me over 'til I got it fixed.

It comes factory-set at 5oz and is an excellent trigger for the money - c. £100 - about half the price of a Jewel.

The one with a safety is about £20 extra but comp. guns don't normally use a safety. Hannam's Reloading are the importers and will post to you.

Thanks guys! I'm not sure but it looks like I might be able to use the stock safely with a RifleBasix trigger...?

Externally, the trigger is identical to the std. Remmy one. It's sold as a replacement/upgrade. It's offered with or without safety - the one with safety is about £20 more.

Not sure about WHY you'd need a safety WITH the trigger.

The Basix LV-1 unit uses the factory safety already fitted to the rifle.

As I suspected.

I'd imagine it may be for converting an already custom rifle to one with a safety, or for those that have lost parts...?

Just makes it more of a 'drop in' component I suppose.
