New guns on SGC + reasons

A quick reminder please if you will... can't find the answers here.
1) On SGC, if you buy a new S.2 shotgun do you just get it added on
then notify the fuzz? No need to apply for variation beforehand?
2) Is there any requirement to declare a 'reason' (i.e. disciplines) for an S.2 shotgun? If not, are you free to use it for whatever discipline you wish?
Must. get. used. to. mainland. laws....

Aye...SGC is open permit to buy what you want...plus borrow for up to 72 hours without entering the gun on your SGC
In terms of purchases...buy it, add to your paper cert., notify the gendarmes within 7 days and you're good to go...

Some forces are imposing a limit of S2 3 Shotguns on your SGC however I never had any such issues with mine.

You only have to notify you've bought one not why you wanted it.
So don't worry about having to tell them it was because it was Barbie Pink with pretty sparkles and Unicorns on it

Is it the same rules in Northern Ireland though?
You should really clarify that 762 when asking legislation/law questions

Never heard of this one...
Are said forces issuing their "limited number allowed" S.G.C.'s on the basis of likewise lower S.G.C. fees & fewer checks?
Don't see this stance standing up to scrutiny, let alone a court case.
Guidance to Police & the Firearms Acts look like they are not required reading in said Firearms departments.
I'm surprised this has not already been challenged

Yes I was referring to mainland law. Clue was: "Must. get. used. to. mainland. laws.... "
I understood that you didn't need a reason to possess an SGC shotgun - only FAC Firearms? Reason being that when my FAC is 'converted' (when I return to the mainland), I don't want to scupper myself by stating the same conditions here if they're not
neccessary on the mainland.
