Assistance please
Hello all, after spending a considerable amount of time skulking round these forums for info (Thank you for lots of assistance by the way) I have now got my FAC through, and am in the process of spending some hard earned money.
So far i have the S&W M&P 15-22 MOE which has already had a few outings and has been great fun, i have also ordered the Grand Power K22 X-Trim in Chrome and am awaiting stock on the Beretta 1301 for Practical Shotgun.
However i do have some questions which i hope you can assist with, for the M&P i am aware any std options can fit this, however i was looking around and lots of the accessories im seeing are stating Airsoft (Grips, the hole covers for which i cant remember the name, red dots, scopes etc) are all showing at various prices as i happy with iron sites that some with it but would prefer a red dot (I struggle with scopes at short distances standing up)
My question is are the cheap and cheerful ones exactly that (Lots on Ebay at low prices) and when it comes to red dots it will be in doors only at the range only as i am already a few pounds shorter then i was i dont want to buy something that i will regret but also dont want to spend a fortune right now but also dont want to waste money on something that is unsuitable and i will need to replace.
Can any of you let me know your thoughts around where (EBay gun shop etc) you would recommend for these accessories or if there is little difference (Assuming Red Dots are the exception here), i live in Epsom, Surrey near to London, surrey and Sussex (Brought the M&P form Bisley but they had nothing in stock accessory wise)
Phew all done now, thanks in advance for your assistance and for reading war and peace smile2

Stay away from airsoft junk... It's junk!
If you want a cheap, but good red dot, then get one of these:

Re: Assistance please
EBay looks appealing but the bottom line is that if the prices seem amazing then the accessories will be of lower quality. Wobbly, I'll fitting parts may go unnoticed in the innacurate world of airsoft or plinking at tin cans. If you want to be hitting consistent bulls/varmints then well machined parts with fine tolerances are a must. Spend a few more quid at a quality gun shop or well known local dealer. Bargains can often be found in shooting forum for sale sections. On the whole shooters are a small tightknit good bunch who tend to be pretty honest (in the UK at least). Just be aware of possible to good to be true scams which I'm glad to say I have not come across. I can't say that for eBay purchasing, I've been ripped off a few times for non shooting related items on there..
Re: Assistance please
A lot of the stuff is listed as airsoft so it doesn't get picked up as firerams accessories, eBay and other sellers don't like firearms.
Some is junk but some, apparently, is pretty good quality, just sold as airsoft to make lives a little easier.

Some of the ebay airsoft stuff is amazing quality and can be used on firearms but other stuff is rubbish - until you get it, you don't find out. I bought an AR15 handguard which was superb - it cost £20. From an AR15 supplier it would've been £200 but I've had scope rings which went straight into the bin!

Re: Assistance please
As has already been said, generally airsoft optics aren't up to firearms accuracy/punishment, so its better to pay more and buy once! Believe me i know from experience!
For a .22lr you can't go far wrong with a Bushnell TR-25 or an Sightmark Ultrafire. Both around £80-100 if you shop around in this country, or as little as £40-50 if you can get one out of the US. They also both look like much more expensive military grade sights (TR-25 - Aimpoint Micro, Ultrafire - Eotech) which i presume is the look you're going for considering the gun.
Airsoft stuff like the foregrips, handguards and stocks are usually up to snuff though and some of the time they're actually made in the same factory!
