Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

>Add Gun Shop here<

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

John Bradshaws Gunshop

This is a huge shout-out for the chaps at John Bradshaws Gunshop at Fotheringhay in Northamptonshire.

Since being introduced to Marcus, Dave and Iain, I've found their knowledge almost encyclopaedic, their welcome always friendly and their advice very helpful.

Let me say straight away that I'm not the sort of person that can spend thousands on shooting kit (although I would do so in a heartbeat, looking at some of the toys in Bradshaws). I'm not even the person that can spend hundreds. Just ammunition when its needed and the odd bit of paraphinaelia when money allows.

A year ago, I bought a new Anschutz MSR through them. For reasons not connected to Bradshaws, a week ago, I had to return it to RUAG for repair and upgrade via JBG.

With the job done and the rifle back from RUAG, they found that my contact number had been mislaid.

So they called one of my best mates (Alan, A.K.A 20series) and asked him to pass the message that my rifle was ready for collection. Message duly passed (many thanks Alan), I drove to the shop but didn't have my FAC with me (my own fault for not thinking) so they couldn't release the rifle to me.

Without any prompting or begging from me, Iain in the shop, very kindly offered to deliver the rifle to me at home later that evening.

I know I wouldn't have had the offer if Iain lived in the opposite direction to me but it doesn't change the fact that he went out of his way, after shop hours, to provide a service to one of their customers.

Superlatives and mere words cannot do justice to such service in this day and age.

A mere thank you is not enough.

I have dealt with them RFD to RFD and they were spot on and we have a customer who swears by them. I really must try and call in one day and day hello.

If you time it with an open day at Barnwell/Oundle we can take you for a beer afterwards.

Certainly does, once a month. Although before I get pulled up on my terminology, they're actually called guest days not open days. i.e. it's not open to the public.

That sounds rather interesting, and they shoot Fullbore and allow people to bring their own rifles?

We have 1 x 100, 1 x 50 (outdoor), 1 x 25 (outdoor), 2 x 25 (indoor), so yes certainly fullbore's allowed on the 100 yard range. I don't see any reason why you couldn't come and shoot your rifles there as a guest.
