20 bore for "action sports"

Quick question, I have a S2, 20 bore semi that I'm going to switch to a S1, more for sh1ts and giggles than anything else. But, should the want arise, is there anything to prevent me from using a S1 20 bore in practical or target shotgun? I'm not talking about the limitations of the cartridge, but any rules precluding such a gun.

20 G is the minimum for PSG.
The only thing you need to do is make sure you don't get any of your your 20G ammo mixed in with someone else's 12G.
That would be bad.

I knew you'd be up for it! Do those cartridge carriers come in 20ga?

They're mostly designed for 12G...
The taccom quick caddies come in 20G versions though, as do the dual load caddies...I only stock the 12G versions, but can get the 20G ones in if you want..

Not so much an issue but be aware that when shooting a buckshot stage - 12G stipulates a maximum of 9 balls to a buckshot cartridge - but for 20g there's no stipulated maximum - meaning you are held to whatever the match director / range master thinks - might be a pain having to deal with this every time it comes up?

I only know of one girl that uses a 20 for psg on the four island circuit.
Not sure on the availability of buck or slug for 20's and don't forget it will be more expensive for all cartridges for it.
You may be able to use carbonarms FSL8/12 caddies for 20's but these are pretty expensive

That made me laugh!
Thanks for all the info. The concept of it being used in practical/target is not so much the drive, but just the excuse so the wee project isn't total nonsense! LOL!

For target shotgun, it could be a distinct advantage due to the low recoil, but I don't know anyone who's used one. Would be interesting to see.
