I decided to take the G22 apart to check the springs and the rest of the gubbins.
OMFG that thing was filthy!
It was full of.... Green! That's the only way I can describe it.
It's been open before, whoever did it lost the magazine safety spring.
Sadly it's just not been cleaned in ages.
Went at it with kitchen roll and cotton buds, a little oil afterwards and I think it's ready to go :-)

A combination of gun oil and dust by the look of it. I am sure it will do the rifle no harm whatsoever and also means you know it a bit better than you did before

I took the trigger mech of mine apart and almost couldn't get it back together!
I wouldn't worry about the missing spring - should work better without it.

Sandgroper, funny question... How stiff is your bolt?
This one seems harder to pull than the VTR, just wondering how normal it is.
Cheers

How difficult was it seperating the actual trigger mech block?
Mine is currently out of action, the hammer is locked back and won't fall. Haven't had the guts/time to go that far with it.

It's easy Dave, just 4 screws and it pulls apart, putting it back was simple too. All the bits can be lined up before you put the 2 halves back together.
The only trick is the trigger mechanism spring, but even that's not a big deal

Put simply; the dirtier it gets, the stiffer the bolt!
