Walther Uzi: Barrel Thread
Hi All,
Does anyone know what size thread protector I would need if I take the fake suppressor off my Walther Uzi? I've tried the one of my Ruger 10/22 and it's way too big.
Cheers
David

Re: Walther Uzi: Barrel Thread
was thinking that for the american market but the word "big" dusnt help, or possible 5/8
Re: Walther Uzi: Barrel Thread
Ok - I accept saying big 'dusnt' help - how about saying it's too large, any better?
I'm not asking for guesswork but was wondering if anyone knew the size I needed. It's definitely not 1/2" or 5/8".
Not to worry, I'll pop it along to my local gun shop and see if they have anything that fits.
Cheers

Re: Walther Uzi: Barrel Thread
I would expect it to be metric given the origin however they may have built it with the US market in mind. If you have a vernier measure the OD of the thread, is it around 14,0mm?
Re: Walther Uzi: Barrel Thread
go b&Q grab one of every size ... then go screwfix and get one of every size B&Q didnt have ( will be more they dont then do) and start trying them out .... then return the them to the shop as unused :)
Re: Walther Uzi: Barrel Thread
Get out your calipers and thread gauge, surely EVERYONE owns both of these items? ;-)
I don't read my own signature!

Calipers and Gauge...hmmm.....my eldest is currently tearing the house apart just looking for a ruler for her homework :cool2:
Anyway...couple of photos to hopefully shed some light.
.22 Uzi next to a standard Ruger 10/22.
Barrel with sleeve on. I want to use a thread protector when set up like this to keep the sleeve in place.
Barrel unsleeved. This is a very thin bit of metal!!
Forgive the feet and sponge-bob jammies in the last photo....at least I missed my belly out
Cheers
