gastinne renette Shotguns

I have a very interesting Gastinne Renette hammer action shotgun, its in need of some work but it looks like some one form european aristocracy spent a lot of francs to have it made and engraved. Before I spend a small fortune i am trying to do some history checks on it.
Beyond the usual google info which I have anyone know where i might be able to find out some detail info about Gastinne Rennete's guns, particularly serial numbers checks.
Anyone know if there are historical logbooks like Purdey and HH keep?
