Seeing as Sandgroper hasn't mentioned it yet, I thought I'd better.
Today, on a dreich Scottish Sunday, we had our Service Rifle Competition at Cawdor Range. Lots of ammo at Fig 11 targets at 200 & 300 yards.
Sandgroper kept us all entertained with the muzzle Flashes & Thunder from his Steyr 95/30 (have I got it right?), luckily the dreich weather prevented any heather fires from occurring.
Hopefully someone will ask who won with their straight pull M14
Guess who? :shakeshout: :shakeshout:
Pictures to follow, I'm sure.

Cheese & Rice how many more clues do you need???? :shakeshout: :shakeshout: :shakeshout:
Though, I think I've got some serious competition for the 'S' class this year after watching Sandgroper & Yorrick practising for it today.

He's not the sharpest of creatures, Andy - well done!
Yes, the S-Class practice is coming along nicely, but I'm not counting my chickens just yet.
I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can and maybe even a vid of the Steyr in action. The mad minute was fun - annoyed that I messed up and had a misfeed which resulted in only getting off 17rds instead of the 20-25 I was hoping for. sign01
The downside was today's service rifle comp showed my eyes are not up to shooting with iron sights over 200m. Looks like the Steyr will become a scout rifle and my Carcano will be going.
