Ooooooooh, did you polish it, or have it coated? Are they Colt-D frame grips?

I did not realise that they came in polished! Not bad for a fillipino gun...

Yeah, I had a look at them at The Phoenix. Nice things, but was a bit small in the grip for my hands. Their new model fits better for me, but I'm not about to buy into that market just yet!

I polished it.
In my view the original finish is horrible. But it's soft and so it can be removed with fine wet & dry. Followed by a few hours (OK a whole weekend :-) ) with a buffing wheel. It takes quite a while to get it done. There are still a few places that I haven't got to yet. TBH the picture makes it look a bit better than it is, but its an improvement on the original.
Those are Pachmayr Colt Diamondback grips CD-G. They fit well, but they are just slightly too wide so the cylinder has to be eased past them gently.

I've been wondering how to refinish mine, as the finish is pretty poor as you say. I was thinking of having it cerakoted, but I might polish it first and see if I like it. If not I'll get it coated...
