Ruger SR22

Several months ago a well meaning friend gave me a book on the "Tactical 10/22"..... Well that set the mind racing!
I do love the Ruger 10/22. I've always had one. Even when we still had handguns I had Roger, who was just plain old South Yorkshire Shooting Supplies build me one from the "custom parts" he had just imported.... And there it began.
My most recent was again another Roger build of a Volquartsen Super Lite receiver and match bolt. With a Volquartsen TG2000 trigger group, Adams and Bennet barrel, dropped in a Boyd stock. It's stupidly accurate but in no way "tacticool", I have my Smith & Wesson for Call of Duty fantasist fun.
But that book....
So I looked at getting a donor 10/22 and building something akin to what was outlined. Nordic Components chassis, Green Mountain barrel, AR stock and forend...... It was going to be expensive. Very expensive....
But looking about, my local shop had a Ruger SR22 in stock. It was one of the first ones with a fixed stock and an unthreaded barrel, but, the chassis system was the basis and the whole thing was cheaper that it would have been for a chassis, barrel and donor receiver! Some haggling later, it was mine as a base gun.
As is known with me, I went too far..... possibly...... probably! But here it is.
A Ruger SR22 which has had the barrel chopped to 12.5", a Magpull UBR stock and MOE grip. A Power Custom hammer and sear package with uprated springs and shims. Modified the bolt lock to give me an ABR. A Power Custom Extented Bolt Handle and an Extended speed mag release, Iron Eagle extended sight rail and brush guard, A2 style bird cage flash eliminator, Magpul vertical grip on Midwest Industries picatinny rails.
Then put a Leupold Prismatic on it. Magpul BUIS are ebay airsoft, but they're just for the look of it anyway until I can locate a proper set.
Yep, gone way over the top!
