For years by way of saying 'cheerio' I have frequently said ''Peace in the world or the world in Pieces.'' I hadn't a clue where I picked it up. Well still not really for sure but I found this....

Chuck..
We HAVE the technology y'know.
So give me a shout when Chernobyl is a green and pleasant place again.

from the net:
Scientists say that radiation will affect the Chernobyl area for 48,000 years although it will be safe enough for humans to begin repopulating the area long before then - in about 600 years.

All about control jenks. I am sure we could if we wanted to.

You could always have hours of fun at the Pripyat amusement park, especially on the Ferris Wheel.

I watched an interesting documentary about a group of elderly woman who had moved back to their homes well inside the Chernobyl exclusion zone and medical tests had shown their general health, mental state and wellbeing was better than women of a similar age who had been displaced from their homes and continued to live outside the exclusion zone. The biggest cause of death amongst the women inside the exclusion zone was thyroid cancer but most were living to their mid-eighties and actually defied conventional medical thinking.

And Chuck.......I'm quite adept at cocking the Dragunov very quietly!!! :good:

I have been to Hiroshima, it's now a vibrant city. The museum there is quite sobering, particularly the 'shadows'.

Did you see the bit about the woman who was working in the bank 300m from ground zero and survived?.

I don't recall as it was about 10 years ago now, I remember being quite nervous about touching things and drinking the water.

There's lots of origami paper birds everywhere around the peace park. The story goes that a girl made them in the hope that it would cure an illness that she had (I think Leukaemia but not sure). Now it's copied on a huge scale by lots of people who visit.

No matter how much s*** people throw at nature, nature always conquer/survive in one shape or another.
