I am starting to hear rumours of a significant price increase for some of the Reload Swiss powders, something in the region of +50% - has anyone first hand knowledge of such an increase?

I spoke to Nigel a couple of weeks ago and I seem to remember he was talking about an £8 - £10 increase across the board, due to the red tape as a result of making the powders 'official'.

I'm still waiting for th August launch.

A number of years ago there was an article in one of the papers that looked at how "equal" we all were in the EU with regards to pricing. They chose Ikea as the base line, due to the fact they operate in every EU country and offer 99% the same line in every EU store.

Everything available was considerably more expensive in the UK than anywhere else. One item that stood out was nothing more than a small omlete pan. Within a couple of pennies it was exactly the same price around the EU, of about 2 quid. In the UK, this pan sold for nearly seven. The reason given by Ikea, (paraphrased) "We charge what the market allows us to"....

We are paying around 40 quid a pound for our reloading powders at the minute. Reload Swiss want some of this. I was looking forward to giving some of this a go, foe the obvious reason of allegedly decent proppellants at an affordable price. I intend not to bother with these powders now. Im already getting the performance I want at a price I'd rather not pay, I don't need to chuck another one of those into the mix....

Probably bullshit just to Rob british shooters of a few more quid

Well its not going to work out much cheaper than Vhit (particularly if you buy the Vhit in bulk) so if that's the case they can shove it.

Unfortunately bud, no, it's not a typo. Wilson & Wilson is probably one of the cheapest in the country for powder. Great if you live close by as shipping will cost you around 25 quid on top.....

IMR and Hodgdon are my powdersof choice, £40.50. Alliant average around 36 and Accurate around 34.

Some places are even stating the new price for CCI primers is £55.00 per 1000....!! I'm down to my last couple of thou, it's going to hurt restocking....

Well in that case you are being ripped off. A lot of the powders here are not actually made in the US, the powder is imported in bulk and packaged here. Average price for IMR powders is around 16 quid per pound with Viht being one of the more expensive powders at around 20 quid per pound. Primers wise I use Federal 210M Large Rifle Match primers at around 30 bucks a thousand (18 quid) which I have found (in my guns anyway) to be better than CCI primers and that includes the CCI benchrest primers.
