Well, got my first ever "lead stuck down barrel" panic the other day.

.50 minie stuck half way down.

So... I tried the self tapper bullet puller... no way was that going to screw into the lead.
Twatted it with large lump of concrete and it still wasnt going to screw in.

So... Got out the CO2 pressure thingy with nipple adaptor.
Connected it up and pressed button... pshshhhhhshhhh... lots of CO2 gas everywhere but none of it was going down the barrel. Most of it went out the sides of the adaptor!

Then a little old bloke walked past and said "t*@t it harder".

So, with several hands steading the crappy wooden dowel of a ram rod, I TWATTED it with a large lump of paving slab someone had handily left just out side the range door.
It moved just down a tadge... so I twatted it again, and "woo hoo!" bullet down to powder!

So you got the bullet back to the breach end , but how did you get it out ? I have a M/L which I run on pyrodex and this hasn't happened to me yet , had a couple of FTF but I ream out the nipple with a pin and put another cap on and bingo all is well .
A guy at my club made a new nipple adapter for his CO2 which works well now , I was thinking of getting one of those rods that screw into the bullet to extract them .
I have heard the safe thing to do is pour fluid down the barrel and let it soak into the powder then take it home to work on .

i would guess he put a cap on and pulled the trigger and shot the thing, hoping the co2 didnt affect the powder.....

Yup, powder was fine, I did add a little extra behind the nipple just to make sure, then fired it.

I've had a few FTF, but once I had a round ball move 1/2" down the cylinder.

One guy though I'd been a "silly sod" forgetting to put powder in (I hadn't forgot). I pressed the ball back to seated against the powder, placed a new cap and shot it as normal.

Very strange. Still don't see how the original cap had the force to move the bullet without igniting the powder?
