Hi folks
I've read of people lining the 577/450 cases with paper for a reduced load. Anyone any experience in that? I was thinking of using thicker 75% cotton paper, nitrated. Any thoughts?

Just bought a couple of A3 sheets from a paper supplier it is good quality and the thicker end of blotting paper, not sure what it is called.
Leaves very little ash when nitrated.
Just one wrap does me.
Black powder loading is a reassuringly inexact science.

Could you not just use filler? Such as extra wads (which can be expensive unless you punch your own) or, as I've occasionally used in a .45 x 3.25", crushed rice.

I have used fillers, of a sort, I use kapok and then wax and wads. I want to try something which fills the case and allows me to put a piece of greaseproof paper then the wax next to the powder, 'cos the method I use now leaves very little softener in the powder residue.
