Practical Shotgun... Pouch, Pocket or Belt?

Just had my first days PSG. Big smile or what! :shakeshout:

Only problem I had was trying to carry 20+ cartridges in my right pocket and then accessing them.

So, any tips on carrying them and what in?

Thanks,

Mark

Belt, either load 4 weak hand or load twins and after that load quads!

1. What gun are you using ?
2. Has the loading port been opened up?

I'm using my SXP 1+2 pump action.
No mods have been done to it.
If I decide to put in some serious time to PSG I will probably have to put in a variation for a large capacity pump or semi.

But... thinking about it, is there not a category for PSG 1+2 Pumps or even two shot o/u etc..?

If you're not a serious practical shotgunner, get one of these.

If you want to load 2 then this is what you need. Load 2 is the quickest to learn out of all the methods. I got my load 2 belt a few days before a comp and practising in the lounge with dummy cartridges was all I needed to get up to a decent speed.

There are more options for caddies nowadays than there were a few years back, but a belt full of 4 shell caddies can set you back around £200 and unless you're going to be doing it often that might not be the most effective use of your money.
I use these. They're not bad, but I feel I was just as quick, or slow depending on your point of view, with these here.

I know of a club that runs an unofficial PSG match with section 2 shotguns.

I can 2nd that with the Chameleon load 2 belt (I use one), then at least you can do load 2 with your 3 shot and if you then go sec1 then it's still good to use. There's no point looking at load 4 when your Gun will only take 2 and you can easily spend £300-500 on a full belt setup.

You'll be lucky to find anywhere that will let you use a 2 shot o/u for PSG.

Unfortunately there's no separate division for 3 shot, you will just be lumped in with the other pump or semi auto guys but we've had a few 3 shot guys embarrass a few sec1 shooters in a few comps.
