Running a PSG event, what's required?

#1 Post by Demonic69 »

Aside from a discussion with the club, what would I need to do to legally run a PSG shoot? Do I need to be Range Officer/coordinator, any courses to attend etc?

Cheers

Legally you just need your range to be cleared for any types of firearms/ammunition you want to use and all of the participants to have the relevant condition on their certificate. If you stick to birdshot i'm pretty sure there's nothing formally needed.

If you want help running a comp you should contact the UKPSA or F4i who should be only happy to help. Some clubs don't like 'interference' from large organisations though, just depends on your circumstances.

Cheers Blackstuff. We already run UKPSA events at the club once a month but I'd like to be able to help out if the guy who runs them isn't available.

There are UKPSA RO courses if you really want to snag yourself a red polo top!

Demonic, old bean, bit of a faux pas there.. A word of advice. Don't say "woo". It makes you sound like a colonial half-wit. And don't say 'mucker'. It makes you sound like a Liverpudlian. Neither will get you invited to any decent shoot. Whilst we're on the subject, maybe you'd like to ditch that pump gun too. We'll have our chap pass your chap the card of decent maker of sidelocks...

I don't get invited to decent shoots, that's why I want to run my own Badgerooni :-)
