I need a good gunsmith for modifications for benelli M2 as per

I want the shell lifter sorting so it doesn't chop my thumb to pieces

the loading port widening

bolt handle enlarging

carrier latch fettling as Ive got last shell sticking syndrome .

I dont want to pay shipping costs - so dropping it off local to me (north cheshire) but ive found that not all the local gunshops are clued up on this

any suggestions as to where to go most gratefully received

Don't think you'll find anyone at this end of the country. Modding S1 shotguns is a pretty specialist task. Steve Pike at Shield Shooting Centre and Andy Haines of Master Class Custom Guns are the only people i know who specialise in doing this stuff

Alternatively, buy yourself a Dremel and do it yourself!

+1 to what Mark said.

However, if you have a bit of DIY skill and some patience, most of those jobs are easy to do yourself.

Opening up the loading port is pretty easy to do yourself if you take your time (I did mine with a dremel, fine files and wet&dry)

The bolt handle is a 5 minute job to swap over yourself (I have larger bolt handles for the M2 on their way over at the moment)

The shell lifter isn't a DIY job, but if you take it out yourself and post it to Andy, he'll weld it up for you. The carrier latch likely needs a bit of a clean, and perhaps a slight tweak..

I would 2nd whats been said, bolt handle is about £29 and easy swap

opening up the port is more about patience and confidence, take your time and you will achieve a good job.

Got hold of Andy today , shipping the beast to be fully fettled by him .

Cheers for the tips , don't think I would unleash my diy skills on this , I'd only cock it up , plus I don't even own a sheet of wet n dry paper never mind a dremmel.

I have people to do this kind of thing for me ... Loaders , bearers , beaters etc

Can't be that specialist, you hack at it with a match box and a butter knife.
