:australia2:
Lithgow III* 1919 .303 SMLE rifle in very good condition. All matching numbers and every metal part is stamped with the Lithgow inspectors mark a (A inside a star or OA on rear sight ears) even the magazine follower has the star & A. The wooden walnut butt has a nice grain pattern with many stamps 3/45 & 7/46 thought to be arsenal refurb dates. With a unmarked brass disc & early style brass butt plate, the coach wood fore end was replaced many years ago I believe and is numbered to the rifle and stamped SLAZ41 for Slazenger factory 1941 maybe during or after the rifles use in WW2. Barrel is in very good condition dated 1920 with strong bright rifling shoots very well out to and well past 600 yards. Proofed in 09 so had the headspace checked recently and no fault was found, so good to go. This rifle is perfect for the shooter/collector as early Lithgows do not appear very often in this original state. Metalwork has a nice patina to it with no pitting or rust the wood no splits or cracks. Sorry to see this rifle go. Rifle now stored with a RFD please contact me to view. RFD to RFD transfer is available at buyers cost.
Sling not included.

£685 + RFD fees if transfered to your RFD.
