Fantastic old photo.I love seeing things like this from WW2 as im a bit of a history nerd.
I have a wooden model carved from wood of a Lancaster flying over a church which a German POW did for my dad in 1946 when he was a kid.He swopped a packet of ciggies for it and i'll keep it forever.The POW by the way was working at a nearby farm as they did back then.

HMS Kent was a County class heavy cruiser launched in 1926 and sold in 1948.

Dad, who died in '68 used to tell me stories about watching fish coming at them and manouvering like crazy and then depth charging...he said you knew if you hit them by the black colour of the water shooting up.
When sinking ships, sometimes they took no survivors.
Strange...he always welled up saying that and he hated the enemy.

Not on that list...have to look at his other ships ..I think he joined in the 20's... and invalided out 42 ish (TB).

Fkying fish of WWI . My Grandfather served in the RN for 22 years including WWI . The ship had official photographer who produced post cards from the photos , this was on my Grandfather had collected . No details of where or when .
